The Practice Room
A live co-practice space for adult violinists who want to make consistent, focused practice part of their week.
You already know you want to practice. The difficulty is often making the time—and protecting that time once everything else begins competing for it.
The Practice Room gives your violin a regular place on the calendar.
Twice each week, we meet live on Zoom, put everything else aside for an hour, and practice together. You bring whatever you need to work on: scales, études, repertoire, lesson assignments, technical exercises, or simply the piece you have been meaning to return to.
There is no assigned repertoire and nothing to prepare.
You simply show up with your violin and practice.
How the Practice Room Works
Each 60-minute session combines two concentrated practice periods with brief opportunities to set an intention, check in, ask a question, or share a discovery.
During the practice periods, microphones are muted and everyone works independently.
You might spend twenty minutes on four measures while someone else works through Kreutzer, practices scales, studies a bowing problem, or sight-reads a new piece.
Your practice remains entirely your own. We simply make the time to do it together.
Weekly Schedule
Fridays — 8:00 AM Central
Sundays — 8:00 AM Central
Sessions are approximately 60 minutes on Zoom.
Attend one or both sessions each week. There is no minimum attendance and no need to reserve individual sessions.
Why Co-Practice?
There is a particular kind of concentration that comes from working alongside other people who are also deeply engaged in their work.
The Practice Room brings that experience to violin practice.
You are not performing for the group. You are not being evaluated. You are simply surrounded by other violinists doing the same real work you are doing—repeating, listening, experimenting, adjusting, solving problems, and trying again.
For one hour, everything else can wait.
This is time you have claimed for yourself and your violin.
What Can I Practice?
Anything that needs your attention: repertoire, scales and arpeggios, études, sight reading, bow work, intonation, difficult passages, lesson assignments, workshop material, or music you simply want to play.
This is your practice time.
Who Is the Practice Room For?
The Practice Room is for adult violinists at any level who want greater consistency, dedicated practice time, gentle accountability, and the company of other musicians without the pressure of performing for them.
You do not need to study privately with me or be a current student of the Broadbent School of Violin Artistry.
Join the Practice Room
Membership is $59 per month and includes both weekly Practice Room sessions and access to both weekly Practice Room sessions.
There is no long-term commitment, and you may cancel at any time.
